Inspirated by the Adventures of "Sherlock Holmes", Written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A veritable adventure game licence, Sherlock Holmes returns in a superb third episode that gives a whole new angle to the series. In most cases, when an answer was given to me by Holmes in a cut scene, point A and point B never really connected to point C, so I really found the Holmes’ answers to be extreme leaps in deduction for what little evidence you find for him. It was like coming to the end of an exercise class where you've suffered a lot but are glad you made it to the end. From the uninteresting story, to the mediocre voice acting, uninspired puzzles, and serious technical issues, there's really nothing to recommend here.

In some ways, this actually adds to the gameplay because it forces you to concentrate on every word spoken, much like the obsessive Holmes would have--or not. In Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, the intrepid detective encounters the power of pure evil. The idea of playing Holmes in vast 3D environments might give rise to some worries: if the player is supposed to go looking for minute clues in such areas, isn't the game going to turn into an insanely hard pixel-hunting chore? of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened for the PC, and while this adventure/mystery title does make strides to bring 1894 London grade mystery solving to the PC gaming masses, ultimately if Holmes … Sherlock Holmes + Cthulhu.
