The Pontefract and District Family History Society is an active group of family historians who hold regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month, meetings start at 7.30pm. The Society is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies and also the North West Group of Family History Societies. Our team are passionate about preserving the history of the county and are here to help people who wish to find out more about their family's past, local history or would like to undertake further research on this fascinating county. We are a registered charity run solely by enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for family and local history.
