At Hôtel du Center you can take a 7-minute walk to Center Commercial and do some shopping or take a 10-minute drive to a local beach to suntan. The room was nice, staff really friendly. Everything is located downstairs from the hotel - restaurants (many kinds from Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican), mini mart, shopping stores, bakery, cocktail/juice bar and the information centre, aquarium and water taxis (across to both Duck and Master Island) are a short 5min walk down the promenade. The only good thing about this hotel was it's location. Pick up the water taxi from Baie des Critron, it's a 5min boat ride. Chinatown in city has cheap souvenirs. The local bus stops outside the cottage so you can easily and cheaply get around and see the sights of Nouméa.
